Dr. Elie Justin Ouédraogo paid a heartfelt tribute to Dr. Pierre Claver Damiba, former Minister and first President of the West African Development Bank (BOAD). “You have had a profound impact on the various public policies of our country,” he stated.
“The importance of CAPES in our country’s development framework is beyond question. We have no doubt that the celebration of CAPES’ twentieth anniversary will serve to further strengthen its mission and enhance the visibility and impact of its findings. As a member of the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), which has demonstrated its effectiveness across the continent, saying that CAPES has a promising future is simply stating the obvious. At the same time, this calls on its current leadership to redouble their efforts. Long live CAPES, and happy anniversary!” the Patron added.
However, Dr. Elie Justin Ouédraogo also raised an important question: “Given the positive achievements CAPES has recorded, what lies ahead for the institution as Burkina Faso faces significant challenges?” In his view, CAPES must commit itself in the years to come to championing the need for a paradigm shift.
